The breakfast felt like a complete rip-off, and I couldn’t find a manager to complain to. I left my phone number for someone to get back to me, but nobody has. I’m considering small claims to recover my money. The room was filthy. There were stains on the sheets, thick dust and cobwebs, and the cups for tea and coffee were dirty too. The curtains came off their rail, and there was no hot water in the shower in the morning. Absolutely awful.

We had a roomy three-person room and a great stay with our big dog. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The hot water was there, it just took a while to come through.

The food was alright, though this wouldn’t be my first choice of restaurant. We had a table booked for 7 pm, but it took a chore to find a staff member who could seat us. We did get seated in the end.

I went to a sportsman’s brunch and the food was absolutely awful. The black pudding could’ve passed for an ice hockey puck, and the Lorne sausage felt hard enough to smash windows with. Believe me, that was the best part. I wouldn’t feed the stuff to my dogs. It was embarrassing. This was my second time eating there, and I won’t be back. Chef, don’t think so. You’d be safer and get something tastier by buying a packet of crisps at Tesco along the street.
