The Guildhall and Linen Exchange

Really awful service. I went to the pub with my family, including my elderly grandparents and our puppy. We sat at the outdoor tables and ordered drinks and food on the app, paying straight away. When a staff member brought the drinks, she said dogs weren't allowed on the premises. I can understand a place not being dog-friendly, but it could have been explained kindly, and plenty of places let dogs stay outside. We said one of us could stay with the dog on the street, outside the pub's property, while everyone else ate at the table without the dog. She still argued, repeating the vague company policy without explaining why that couldn't work. When we asked if the rule meant even staying with the dog on the street wasn't allowed, she said if we did that, everyone could. Ridiculous. She effectively told us to leave and said she'd refund the order. There was no consideration for my tired, hungry grandparents. At least I'll get the money back for food I never got to eat.

The drinks arrive quickly and are always made well, and the food comes out hot and tasty. Saul (long hair) at the front of house is really friendly and good for a chat if you fancy one. Looking forward to coming back!

We've been here a few times for drinks before heading to the nearby clubs. It's got a great atmosphere, with quick, polite service. There's a tall long-haired guy, I think his name is Saul, who's been working a few of the times I've visited. He's always friendly and polite.

The food is good and comes quickly, and the staff can be friendly and enthusiastic, though their attitude can be poor at times. Tables often stay dirty unless you ask someone to clean them. Staff seem busy serving and chatting with friends, and the service suffers. Fridays and Saturdays are horrible. The antisocial behaviour is out of control, and staff don't step in to calm things down or ask people to leave. It spoils the place for other customers. The toilets are awful, far away and full of drugs. The staff definitely know what's going on there.
