My wife and I have been twice in the last six weeks because this place is so revitalising. It's a lovely cottage among green hills and trees, with a river running through. The owners are lovely and extremely accommodating. The best little place in Scotland.

The cottage is very comfortable, and Alison has thought of everything to make a stay memorable. It's a wonderful place to recharge, surrounded by miles of open countryside. There are riverside walks, birdsong, sheep, and cows. Highly recommended.

The website focuses on the cottages and separate units, but Alison and Bill also let out rooms in the main house. If you're walking the Southern Upland Way, just call or email and say so. We stayed there on our walk and found the room comfortable, with a bath, and the house itself is beautiful. Alison and Bill were kind, quick to respond, lovely company, and excellent cooks.

We found the cottage very relaxing and comfortable. It sits at the end of a quiet lane with a view over the river, and there are woodland walks nearby or you can cool off with a swim. The welcome was friendly, with tea, coffee and complimentary snacks.

I look at the photos and really miss Green Hope. We still think fondly of our stay, and hope to return one day. The hosts made us feel so welcome and looked after us so well. You won't regret visiting. 👍
