The room and shared spaces were spotless, and it was so quiet all night that I slept really well. The bed was very comfortable, with lots of pillows. I got a warm welcome from the friendly, attentive host, and breakfast was generous and fab. Free off-road parking was available too. Excellent value, and I’d definitely book again if I’m in the area.

The shower had hardly any pressure, and there was mould in the grout on the wall tiles and in the shower. It didn’t feel properly clean either: there were long hairs in the drain and even on the toilet seat. I have pictures of those things and the others I mentioned. The beds felt like sleeping on a bag of rocks, and the rooms look as though they were last decorated about 20 years ago, in the usual ugly magnolia. Maybe the beds were bought around the same time. This might be a 4-star place in Dunstable, but elsewhere it would struggle to get 2 stars. I’m guessing previous guests were easily pleased and don’t spend every week away for work. This is a completely unbiased review.

The area was quiet, the room was very clean, and the staff were nice and respectful. The wardrobe was wobbly, though, and didn’t feel very safe.

You could hear people talking in other rooms in the evening. The shower was cramped, and there was no hot water in the morning. The heating only came on when the owner wanted it to.
