The George Hotel Easingwold

The staff were polite, professional and fantastic, and the restaurant was really well run. I hadn't read any reviews before my first visit, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The food turned out to be a real treat, beautifully presented and piping hot. The fish of the day was cooked perfectly, with potatoes and cream sauce that went well with it. The duck breasts were just as nicely cooked. Fish and chips were something special too, with a huge piece of fish and light, crisp, well-seasoned batter that wasn't greasy. Every part of the plate was done well. It's out of my way, but I'll definitely come again. 10/10.

We only ate in the restaurant, so I can't comment on the rooms. The staff were brilliant, and I'd certainly recommend the George Hotel. Once again the food was delicious. I'd asked whether they had a chicken dish, and the staff went above and beyond to make a lovely one just for me. The rest of our party enjoyed the mussel dish, steak pie, burger and fish.

John and Elijah deserve a special mention, though everyone was friendly and attentive as always. We had a fabulous meal at The George. My son's steak was cooked perfectly, and my salmon with mussel and sweetcorn chowder was really tasty. My husband enjoyed his steak and ale pie so much he stopped talking for a bit, which says it all. The STP and chocolate mousse desserts were excellent too.

Theo made our wedding anniversary stay feel really special and deserves recognition. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the hotel was lovely. The food was good too.
