The setting was the best part for me: peaceful, with a pond, ducks, pheasants and plenty of other birds. It’s about 15 minutes from the park and ride into York, and roughly 25 minutes from a big shopping complex with ASDA, B&M, Primark, Boots and Smyths. You can fish in the lake or pond too. We had a lovely four-day stay at Paradise Lodges, two adults and a teenager. The staff were friendly and easy to approach, and sitting in the hot tub to unwind while watching the wildlife was great. A couple of things could be better: the bed felt too small for us since we’re used to a king, and the shower cubicle was cramped, especially from a woman’s point of view when shaving. An overhead shower above the ensuite bath would be useful. Still, a great stay.

A lovely spot for fishing, and a good choice for families wanting a quiet break. It’s surrounded by wildlife, with birds singing through the day and no traffic noise at all. A beautiful, peaceful place to relax and switch off. Highly recommended!

The beds were really comfortable, and Ralph and the rest of the team were kind and clearly worked hard. The pod was spotless, with a sparkling bathroom, fresh toilet paper, and clean dishes and bedding. It also had a TV with Netflix, itvx and other channels, strong five-bar Wi-Fi, and an information book about the pod. There was a kitchen with a microwave, kettle, mini fridge and plug-in hob, plus cutlery and dishes. The wet room had a shower, toilet, sink and mirror. Outside, the natural surroundings, gravel roads and paths kept things less messy, and each pod had its own allocated parking space, which made arrival feel organised. It was great value for money, and I’d definitely recommend the site. 🦆 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The beds are so comfortable, and the lodges stay nice and warm after being out in the colder months. I’ve visited in every season and the inside has always been very clean. It’s a family-run place with lodges and a pod, hot tubs and two fishing lakes. The family who run Paradise are absolutely gorgeous, and nothing is ever too much trouble. I can’t think of anywhere else in York I’d rather go to relax. Wish I could give them more stars xx

A lovely escape from the busy city, with beautiful nature all around and a quiet atmosphere. The room was nice and warm when we arrived, and the hot tub was ready to enjoy. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and happy to help with anything. Literally paradise.
