The birthday banner by our table was such a nice surprise, and the host was so polite and welcoming. We were a group of five with a dog, celebrating a birthday, and every one of us cleared our plate. The menu had loads to choose from, so deciding took a while, but the food came piping hot, looked lovely and was cooked really well. We’d found this pub online from over an hour away and took a chance on an area we didn’t know. So glad we did. We’ll be back soon.

We were working nearby, so the location suited us perfectly. Dinner was fantastic, fresh tasting pub food and a menu that felt well thought out. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and our dog seemed to love the place too. We felt comfortable coming in with the dog, muddy boots and more casual clothes.

The Sunday roasts were generous and really tasty, and the service made the family birthday feel special. They put up a banner without us asking and gave us a card. It was my first visit in a couple of years, and it was lovely to see The Crown and Horns in such safe hands. Highly recommend.

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and the relaxed atmosphere was lovely. The staff were so helpful and accommodating, going out of their way for us, which we really appreciated. A very nice Sunday lunch. Thanks, we’d recommend it.

A beautiful, cosy pub, and it worked really well for our family get-together. It felt relaxed and very Christmassy, and it’s dog friendly too. The food was plentiful, the welcome warm, and the service great, all at a good price. It’s only a mile off the A34, which made it easy for us midlanders and the southerners to meet. We’d happily return and recommend it if you’re after a traditional country pub.
