We stopped in for lunch with our small dog. The staff were very attentive, and the menu was fantastic. They’d clearly put thought into the vegetarian options, which were lovely and much appreciated. With dogs, you can eat in the Garden restaurant or outside. It’s a beautiful spot with views to match, and there’s parking at the hotel. You can take the ferry across from Salcombe, then enjoy a slow, gentle, lovely 45-minute walk up, or a 30-minute walk down. Highly recommended for couples and families.

We had a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend at Gara Rock. The weather was incredible, but the whole setup was great too. Check-in was efficient and friendly, and we got some helpful pointers and advice. Our suite was excellent, and thanks for the very kind upgrade. The views were immense, the beach, pool and bar were gorgeous, and sunset drinks on our balcony were a particular highlight. The food was great as well, and the location was perfect.

We’ve visited twice, staying once and dining on the other visit. It’s a lovely hotel in an exceptional location. The restaurant view is incredible, the food is good, and one of Britain’s most beautiful beaches is just down the hill.

We'd only visited for lunch before, walking over from Salcombe, so staying at the hotel was new for us. It was a lovely stay, with a great location, stylish but practical room and decor, and a really friendly, helpful team. We had dinner, breakfast and drinks on the terrace, and wished we could have stayed longer. We'll be back!

The views and lovely walks made our two nights in the penthouse at Gara Rock Hotel even better. We had such a good time and are already keen to return. Patrick welcomed us so warmly, and Louise at reception was always ready to help. Naomi made our first evening feel special, and the woman serving breakfast each morning, whose name we didn't catch, was so kind and homely. We really didn't want to leave. Thanks to the whole team for a memorable stay.
