We stayed here in August 25 and it was awful. The room was filthy, with curtains hanging off, no working lamps, tea or coffee splashed up the walls, and clumps of hair on the floor. Be careful when booking online: the room in the advert definitely wasn't what we got. When I asked about it, the rude man at the desk said the photo was only for show. We'd stayed at pearls and pebbles three years ago and it was really nice, which is why we came back. I guess the owners have changed since then. These ones had no customer service skills and clearly didn't care whether we were happy with the room. We won't return.

There was barely any water pressure, which made showering really difficult. The room was reasonably clean but freezing, with just a plug-in electric heater. No iron or hairdryer, either, and there were no front desk staff overnight or early in the morning.

The room was clean, secure and comfortable, and the hotel is in a great spot, just 30m from the beach. Staff were polite, knew the area and were really helpful. They even got up in the early hours to let me back into my room after I left my swipe card inside and locked myself out, sorry about that! I really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend booking here if you're in Eastbourne for more than a day. If there's a room available next time, I'll definitely come back.

The beach is right nearby, and the city centre is close too, so the location worked really well. Our room was clean and roomy, and the beds made for a good night's sleep. After a long journey, that big bath was especially welcome. The staff did a lot to make us comfortable during our short 2D/1N stay. For what we paid, we were happy with it and would book again if we plan another trip.

We drove three hours with our three children, only to find the hotel locked up and apparently abandoned when we arrived. A neighbour told us it was disgusting inside and said she wouldn't stay there even if she were paid. The phone line was dead when we tried calling. Luckily, we managed to find somewhere down the road.
