Linwater is a great campsite if you're near Edinburgh and don't mind staying a little further out. The tram park and ride is only 10 minutes away and is the best way into the city. Even when full, the site didn't feel crowded. They've thought of loads of things campers might need. The shared room is especially useful, with everything you'd expect and some extra bits too, and there's a small shop. The toilets and showers were clean, well kept and roomy enough to change in the cubicle.

After years of hiking and backpacking, this is the cleanest, tidiest campsite I've stayed at. The grounds are beautifully maintained, right down to the planting. The kitchen and laundry were great, and all the little practical touches have been thought through, from hooks in the showers and kitchen plates and cups to water taps that don't spray you in the face. It was a relief to find such a lovely place, and I felt welcome with my dog. The shop is fairly priced and stocked with food, dog food, toiletries and other camping supplies. Our tent pitch was huge, flat and not muddy despite the recent rain. Thank you!

A nice, clean and well laid out campsite. For a bikepacker with a one-person tent, I found it a bit pricey. The facilities were good: a small dining and kitchen area with a microwave, air fryer, toaster, kettle and hob. Having one socket for all of them was inconvenient, and there's no oven or fridge. There are a few pots, pans, plates and cups. A small Tesco is about 1.5 miles away, an easy ride by bike. Sussie at reception was really helpful and friendly.

The pitch was level, drained well and had no mud, and the toilets and showers were immaculate. The whole site was spotless. The woman who checked me in was very polite too. Hats off to the cleaner, I'd definitely stay again.

We stayed one night before returning our camper van. The campsite is in a beautiful spot, with great showers and toilets, and the staff were very friendly. We could hear the planes taking off and landing at Edinburgh Airport, but they didn't really bother us because the flight path is some distance from the site.
