Orocco Pier

Service was pleasant in the evening and again in the morning, and I even got some parking advice. Dinner tasted like it had been made in a professional kitchen. Rooms 1-4 have a lovely view in the morning, and with the window open you can hear little waves reaching the beach. There was hardly any wind while I was there, though I suspect winter might be different. One small thing, UK city water always tastes strongly of chlorine to me, unless I'm mistaken.

The location was great, but I was disappointed by the stay. I'd expected a bath with a sea view as shown on the website, and that wasn't what I got. The morning staff and service were poor, and the place seems below the standard it had 3-4 years ago. At breakfast there was no fresh orange juice, just a very diluted orange drink with lots of ice. The butter on the toast was stingy, my coffee wasn't topped up, and the waitress never checked how things were. With management changes and all, it felt pretty ordinary. In my opinion, there are better places on the high street now.

We still have a few days left and are loving it. The staff are great, and the food and atmosphere have been lovely. We came for a week away that included my wife's birthday, and it's been such a warm, welcoming place that I'd return without a second thought. Our room looked out over the Forth Bridge, the bed was comfortable, and we barely heard noise from the hotel or restaurant.

We had a perfect wedding at Orocco Pier, even though we arranged it in a short timeframe. Sharne, our coordinator, was organised, professional, and worked really hard to keep everything running smoothly. The wedding team kept us on track and answered our questions quickly. We had the best day, and lots of our guests praised everything, from the staff to the food. I'd absolutely recommend it.
