The food was mixed. The stovies later on were the best part, while the sticky toffee pudding was a little dry. The main meal was below Witherspoon level, with a thick wedge of beef still carrying its fat and very few vegetables. We were at the hotel for a wedding. The woman running it seemed to police the event, and many guests felt that way. At the wedding, you only got coffee and the like if you were seated. The other staff were friendly. Our room was nice, though the carpets looked tired and the TV signal only sort of worked. Since it faced the road, we kept the windows shut and the room got too warm.

We were a huge group, and the management and staff handled everything that came up really well. They were very helpful, and we had a good stay at the Mansfield.

We had a lovely meal over the weekend, with great cocktails, good food, and fantastic staff. It was my wife's birthday, and they brought a candle for her dessert. They also surprised us with something on the bill, which we really appreciated. We had a great time and would highly recommend the restaurant. We didn't stay in a room, so I can't comment on that. We started with a French Martini and Peach Bellieni in the bar area.

There was plenty of off-street parking, and the staff were lovely. We enjoyed the meal: the food was hot, service was good, and they use local produce, which matters to us. It was decent, though nothing special, and very expensive for what we got. The restaurant looked onto a real-effect fire, but it blew a cold draught. The public bar was the only warm spot, and everywhere else felt cold and unwelcoming.

The breakfast and the service were a nice touch. My room was clean, comfortable, and lovely and warm, which I appreciated as I’m always cold. The reception girl and bar girl were both so smiley and helpful. Thank you!
