We had Christmas Dinner at the fish and anchor again this year, and the food was excellent from start to finish. There was plenty of room at our table for two, while the intimate atmosphere also seemed to suit a large family easily. The service was impeccable, with lots of care for our comfort and needs. Starters and desserts were delicious, and the turkey, roasties and veg were all cooked to perfection. I can't recommend Christmas Dinner here highly enough for families of any size!

Our first restaurant visit was brilliant, and we definitely won't leave it at one. The setting was lovely and the atmosphere great; I honestly can't find anything to criticise. Danny looked after us so well, friendly and helpful throughout. We started with a generous, tasty plate of whitebait. I had the pork, though with that much meat it felt like I'd ordered the whole pig. My husband's chicken was just as generous and, he said, excellent. The vegetables made for a wonderful Sunday lunch. We had time to let it all settle before dessert, and the portions were huge again. Both the bread and butter pudding and applecake tasted wonderful. Thanks to everyone who made it such a good meal.

We were a group of 52 hungry shoppers on a Friday coach trip to Evesham country shopping park, and the staff were ready for us. The food was tasty and nicely presented, and the bar had a good selection of beers and wines. A lit fire made the restaurant cosy, with a pretty tree decorated in twinkly lights. The homemade apple crumble with lashings of hot custard was delicious.

We've eaten here several times and always enjoyed it, so Mother's Day on 15th March 2026 was a real letdown. What should've been a warm family occasion was spoiled by a string of problems. When I asked for the manager after waiting 40 minutes or more for our starter, I was told he was there. The young man at the bar went to look, then came back five minutes later saying the manager was too busy to speak to me, but could call if I gave him my number. I told the barman that if the manager couldn't be bothered to talk to me, he must have known there was a problem getting orders out. Customers should always be worth speaking to. It was very unprofessional. We waited 50 minutes for the starter, and the waitress had to ask us for our order a second time. She was the only waitress and looked rushed off her feet, frankly vulnerable with the pub quite full. For a special occasion with a menu created for that day, you'd expect extra staff. The food was generally good when it finally arrived, but not as well cooked as on previous visits. The price hike had promised better quality. This was an unfortunate experience that took away from the occasion, and we won't be returning to the Fish and Anchor in the near future.

I liked that families with young children had their own room to eat separately from other diners. I wish more places did that. There was ample parking on site too, and I'm looking forward to seeing the place in summer. We came after a Sunday morning drive, were greeted at the door and shown into the restaurant. It has very nice modern decor and a great view of the river across the road. The menu doesn't offer much choice, especially for vegan or vegetarian diners. The food available was very nice, well presented and full of flavour, and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and prices quite reasonable. I'd give more stars if there were more vegetarian options.
