The pub/bar has lovely decor and lighting, comfortable chairs, and an excellent barman. The draught Kronenbourg was very fine 👍👍👍 I wonder if the hotel is no longer open. If so, maybe they should tweak the name. I didn't come in earlier because I thought it was only a hotel, then someone mentioned it had a bar when I asked. Much better than the Premier Inn bar.

We only meant to stop for one, but the ale selection kept us there for three. Tom and his staff run a really good pub, with beers from Exeter Brewery, less than 500m away. Keep it up, guys!

The Indian restaurant is a great addition, and I liked the traditional ale drinkers' bar. The staff were lovely too. But the bedrooms badly need a makeover. It’s very budget accommodation, and I wouldn’t come back until the rooms are sorted.

Breakfast was included in the morning, and the price was fairly cheap. It was a convenient place for our lads’ night away and worked well for a weekend. The whole hotel needs a major revamp, though: our room felt tired and got far too hot overnight. I wouldn’t bring the family here.

Donna at breakfast was a real ray of sunshine, warm and welcoming, and the breakfast itself was good. I’d stay again. I’d expected the worst after reading reviews before my work booking, but I was comfortable during my stay. The place still needs work, which is ongoing, though new beds are already in the rooms.
