We spent four days here with the kids. The room for four was fair enough and the beds were comfortable. It’s right opposite Exeter St David’s station, which made trips to other places really easy, and the town centre is about a 15-minute walk away. A great location for a short family visit.

Both rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were happy to move me when the people above my first room were noisy. I’d just missed the last train home after a long day travelling, so I checked in here. It’s in an amazing location and was great value for money.

DO NOT STAY HERE, BED BUGS I stayed here several times from October onwards, and each time I came away with bites all over my body. After the same thing happened on a January stay, I called the hotel again. The person on the phone told me they knew about the issue and had confirmed bedbug cases in first-floor rooms that were being kept shut. I was also told I could be compensated for my stays. A few days later, my partner, who lives with me, started getting bites at home too. I had to spend over £200 treating my home. I sent Premier Inn the invoice, the inspection report, photos of the bites and text evidence showing I’d contacted the hotel about it. They then denied there was any issue and refused compensation, despite what I’d been told. Horrendous customer service and, from my experience, awful hygiene and cleaning. The place is absolutely riddled with bugs.

My room was faultless, and check-in through the self-service screens was quick and simple. I took off a star because I’m not keen on ground-floor rooms. There was a busy path right outside the window, so I didn’t feel I could leave the curtain open. The location was perfect for catching an early train the next morning without any stress.

We were right next to the train station, but the room was very quiet. I paid a little extra for the Premier Plus room since we were staying a few nights, and it was well worth it. It came with a coffee machine, fridge and a great shower. Best one yet.
