The Alexandra Pub

The burger I had for dinner was excellent, and the drinks aren't too pricey. Everyone is friendly, too. The main drawback has been kitchen trouble on nearly every visit. It's family-run, and the woman running the kitchen had a broken arm, which made things difficult. I'd happily come back for a meal, and if things go well, I could see this becoming a five-star review.

The food is amazing, and I love that it's a nut-free pub, so this is definitely my new local. Everyone was welcoming, and the place has a warm, comfortable feel. Thanks for a great visit.

We turned up without booking for Sunday lunch and were greeted warmly. The beef was juicy and succulent, and my partner's pork belly was just as good. The menu promised crackling, which wasn't there, but she enjoyed it enough not to complain. I later won a crown in the meat raffle and found out they use Woods Butchers, a highly reputable local butcher. The cauliflower cheese was very good and properly cheesy. The vegetables looked nicely presented, but let the meal down: the parsnips were a bit hard and the green beans rather rough. The roast potatoes were okay. With the quality meat and friendly service, it still felt worth five stars, though without those strengths I'd have rated it four. I'd like to try it again and hope the vegetables are better next time.

Eating out makes me nervous because of my severe allergies, but they handled it so well. The food was really tasty, and they can adjust any meal. I can't say enough good things about them.
