Pubs with no food, cafes, takeaways and Coop are all within walking distance, though pubs serving food are about a 25 minute drive away. Garreg Ddu also makes a great base for seeing North Wales and attractions further afield. It’s a lovely cottage, renovated with modern fixtures and fittings while keeping its rustic feel. The owner was attentive and made sure we had everything for our stay.

We got lucky with the weather on our midweek stay. The host went out of her way to send information before we arrived, including maps and useful tips, and was only a message away if anything came up. The shower is unreal, the bed is super comfy, and there’s plenty of space. It’s a quiet little road, so you can sit outside at the front with a cuppa without traffic disturbing you. Would recommend for anyone coming to north Wales, and I’ll definitely stay again.
