Gwesty Seren Hotel

Room 10 was lovely and clean, and very big, but freezing cold when we arrived. We’d ordered an extra large double, though the bed was standard size. The washing machine started around 0700, so there were no lie ins. All the staff were lovely, though I think some are former clients. With no breakfast included, this was the most expensive stay of our three night trip. Sorry guys, the location is lovely, but it wasn’t worth the money. One thing to understand is that this is primarily a respite home for mentally disabled adults, with a few rooms let out as a hotel. The usual guests and their carers are encouraged to eat and spend time with other guests, which can make for an interesting stay.

The view, food and staff were all brilliant, and the manager was lovely. We only stayed two nights and had no complaints. People with learning differences were lovely to talk with, and the staff supporting them were very kind. There’s a lovely walking path up the road on the left, and I’ve attached some photos. We’d definitely recommend staying here and will come back.

I’ve stayed at this hotel at least four times, twice for business and twice for pleasure, and it’s always been enjoyable. It’s my go to for the Snowdonia area. The staff are great, the rooms are generally clean and good quality, and there’s ample parking. For motorcyclists, though, there’s no covered parking or ground anchors. The full Welsh breakfast is amazing and keeps you going until dinner, ideal fuel for walkers, hikers and bikers. The quiet location gives you gorgeous views while keeping the major towns close enough by car for essentials. Lots of attractions and walking routes are within an hour’s drive, and prices are often much lower than in the bigger towns. I can’t really think of any other downsides, to be honest.

The rooms are huge and the views stunning, and we had a wonderful stay on our walking holiday. The service was amazingly friendly. They were serving evening meals after all, which was great since there aren't many options nearby. The recently refurbished bar is beautiful.
