The place was spotless and the staff were friendly, with a good range of beers and a couple of real ales. As a pub, it does the job, though it feels like some of its character has been stripped away.

We’re local and still love coming here for Sunday lunch. Today was another lovely family meal, and the Sunday Carvery was wonderful. The restaurant feels warm and welcoming, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks to you all.

The location made getting around easy, with a bus stop directly opposite and the beachfront just a two-minute walk away. We had lunch in the hotel restaurant on our first day and really enjoyed the delicious, well-prepared food. They serve breakfast and dinner too, as well as a Sunday carvery, though we didn’t get to try those. We spent two days at the Royal Norfolk Hotel in Sandgate. Our room was cosy and had all the amenities we needed, and the staff made us feel welcome and were very helpful. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it.

The staff were attentive and friendly, and we all thought the food was delicious. It was one of the best roast dinners I’ve had out in a long time. Since the puddings looked good too, I’ll try to save room for one next time. We’d booked ahead for four people on Sunday 27th April, as it can get busy. The roast is served carvery-style: you queue to choose up to three meats, then help yourself to potatoes, vegetables, gravy and the rest.
