Wards Hotel

The only thing going for it was the location, so I didn’t think it was worth the money. I stayed three nights, and reception was closed almost all day. There was no housekeeping during my stay. The room was very warm, but no fan was available. The toilet didn’t work properly, and neither did the window blinds.

The bedroom was okay, though a bit shabby, and the bathroom needed a proper clean. There was almost no toilet paper, and none available to replace it. Reception wasn’t staffed, the bar had very few drinks on offer, and most of them weren’t available. In the morning there was no access to the lounge or other areas, and nobody around. I wouldn’t stay again.

After watching 4 in a bed, I wouldn’t stay here even for free. The couple’s vindictive game playing was absolutely disgusting and pathetic. They shouldn’t be allowed to run a hotel.

We paid £76 for a twin room with breakfast, and it was a hearty one. The location worked really well for cycling along the south coast. We’re riding across much of the south coast of England, and finding somewhere willing to accommodate bikes is a real challenge. Our host was incredibly kind and helpful, brought our bikes into the hotel to keep them safe, and pointed us towards some decent food. Couldn’t have asked for more 👍🏼
