I can’t comment on the rooms, but this is my favourite place for a pint in Forest Row, by a wide margin. It’s fairly lively, the beers are well kept, and there’s a great wine selection. It’s very dog-friendly, too, with a special menu for dogs. They don’t serve food yet, but if it’s as good as the service and atmosphere, it’ll be stunning.

Fabio deserves a special mention. The owner is friendly, attentive, and clearly cares about guests, and he’s working to bring the place back to its best. He’s got plans for top-class food in the near future. The pub also welcomes dogs, which is a big plus if you’re travelling with pets. The Chequers Inn is a charming listed building with genuine old-English character. You feel its history as soon as you walk in. The pub and rooms are being upgraded over the next few months, and even while the work is underway, everything felt clean, comfortable, and welcoming. You can already see the passion behind the improvements. If you like traditional English charm and great hospitality, it’s worth a visit.

Fabio is such a down-to-earth top bloke, and I had some lovely chats with him. The whole place has a really kind, friendly energy. Our room was clean and cozy, and he answered all the questions my partner and I had so helpfully. We’ll definitely be back soon.

The pub is lovely and quaint, in a beautiful village, and our room was comfortable and just what we needed. The host was great, really attentive, and is working hard to refurbish the place and bring it up to date without losing its personality. Thanks for a great stay.

There are plenty of fantastic places to eat within walking distance, and the location is great. We had a spacious, clean room with tea-making facilities. From the moment we arrived at the Chequers Inn Hotel, the staff were friendly and there was a welcoming roaring fire. We can’t wait to stay again, highly recommend it for a charming country escape.
