The garden was a lovely place to sit with a morning coffee and decide where to head for the day. The Abbey has a peaceful feel, exactly what we wanted for our week there. Our accommodation was comfortable and well equipped, and the mattress felt like snuggling into a giant marshmallow. A friendly guy met us and gave us an informative tour of the Abbey and our apartment. The owner was also very helpful, with customer service that sadly isn't always the norm these days. Fort Augustus makes a good base for the area's beautiful spots. We didn't try the fish and chips, but people told us they regularly drive over 45 minutes for them, so they must be worth it. We did get takeaway from the Chinese in Fort Augustus, which I'd recommend. Fantastic place to stay, and we'd definitely recommend it. Hopefully we'll be back soon. 5/5

The grounds are marvelous, right on Loch Ness, and the Abbey is well maintained. We had a wonderful room in a beautiful setting, and the swimming pool was great. The only minus is that it's self catered, so if you run out of anything, you're on your own.
