Saxon Villa

What a find. It’s in a fantastic location, and the property really does live up to its name as a Villa. There’s a beautiful garden with great views, and the rooms are tastefully decorated to suit the Victorian building. Breakfast is made to order and was outstanding. I’m gluten free, and there were plenty of options, including granola, muesli, bread and even the full English. It’s peaceful and well placed for walking into Robin Hood bay. The hosts were fantastic, attentive but calm and unobtrusive. Parking was great for our motorbikes, and Des even offered us space in the garden if we needed it. Highly recommend this B and B. We’ll definitely be back.

The views from Room 2 were a real highlight, with the moors and Robin Hood Bay both visible, even from the bathroom. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and tastefully furnished, and the blackout curtains helped. The house stayed warm despite the cool weather, and the location is lovely. Breakfast was great, especially the fruit mixture. Des is friendly, helpful and full of local knowledge, and Heather was funny and flexible when I spoke with her on the phone before our stay. They're superb hosts and clearly willing to go the extra mile. The only small issue was a bit of boiler noise near our room, possibly from the landing cupboard next door. It might disturb a very light sleeper, though it didn't bother me or my wife. We found the stay really relaxing and would definitely come back if we're in the area.

We came back for another stay, and Des and Heather were just as helpful as ever, going above and beyond. The garden is peaceful, and there's parking on site. Robin Hoods Bay is about a 0.9-mile walk away, a lovely, relaxing stroll. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and breakfast had loads of choice, all freshly made. We'll definitely return.

The other reviews have it right.
