Delta Hotels by Marriott Newcastle Gateshead

This room seems to have the same passive-aggressive streak as my review. The kettle kept turning itself off, though I did appreciate the spring water. The large bathroom and deep bath were lovely, with plenty of hot water. But there was no soap or body wash. The bed was big and the room spacious, with soft pillows, yet at the coldest time of year we only had a thin summer duvet and no blankets. Tea, green tea, coffee, and cups were set out nicely.

The food was superb, the bed was really comfortable, and my wife managed to sleep despite her broken ankle. I also used the leisure facilities, which were spot on, and she said her facial treatment was amazing 👍 We’d planned to go to Spain, but had to cancel after my wife broke her ankle and couldn’t travel. We stayed a few days at Delta Marriott instead, feeling pretty down, especially her. The staff were cheerful, kind, attentive, and so hospitable. They did everything they could to help her enjoy herself and reminded us of the days when good customer service really mattered. It’s dog friendly too, and all the staff fussed over our pooch, which she loved. The rooms are very spacious, with outside areas easy to reach. We absolutely recommend it 💯. We enjoyed our stay, and are grateful to everyone for cheering us up and making us feel better.

Our getaway was already a special occasion, and Megan, Abby Newman and Abbie Potts made it feel even more personal. They were caring, thoughtful, and so accommodating throughout. Their warmth really stayed with us after we left. They lifted the whole experience, and we’re so grateful. It’s not often a simple stay feels this meaningful. Thanks for everything, Megan, Abby and Abbie. We’ll happily come back because of you three.

The hotel is a short walk from the Metro Centre, and there are drive-through places like McDonald's, Starbucks, or doughnuts if you're in a hurry. The rooms are large, with twin beds, a sofa and table, plus a desk you can work at. There’s an indoor pool, a big gym, spinning classes, a beauty salon, and a restaurant for dinner. You can also get a gym membership without staying at the hotel.
