The complimentary full English breakfast was amazing, and the host gave us a lovely, warm welcome. Since it was a quiet night, he upgraded our room at no extra cost. My husband and I stayed one night, and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend this hotel, it’s the best value for money in Newcastle.

Durham house is proof that cheap accommodation can still come with 10 star service. I needed a room while attending a function nearby and couldn’t have been treated better. A huge welcome, help with every request, and A1 customer service.

Stuart is a gentleman and carries on his late father's reputation for genuine hospitality. It’s a solid budget stay in Newcastle. I was there for three nights for a symposium and enjoyed breakfast every morning. Stuart even made me a breakfast sandwich for my early departure, thanks again! Downtown is about a 30-minute walk, or you can take the frequent bus from across the street, which takes 10 minutes.
