Bag End House

This is my week away from everything, and it’s well worth it. It’s peaceful and restful, and Jamie’s mum next door is lovely and welcoming when you arrive. Everything is ready, and if you’ve forgotten something, it’s no problem, everyone is so kind. The beaches, dunes and shops aren’t too far away. Putsborough, saunton sands and Braunton burrows are all great for long walks or just lazing about. This place is absolutely brilliant. It’s my second year here, and I’m booking to come back next year.

We had a great time on our annual girls’ weekend, booking for 11-14 May, 2018. There were three of us, and we all loved it. The rear terrace overlooking the fields was lovely in the mornings and evenings. The house had everything we needed and felt like a home away from home. The location is great, with two pubs serving good food within walking distance and a well stocked village shop. Nearby beaches are an easy drive away. We all had a great time and I can HIGHLY recommend it!

We spent an amazing ten days at Jamie’s and would definitely recommend it for a chilled break in North Devon. The nearby beaches are brilliant for surfing and other water fun, and the two village pubs are great too. If you’d rather cook, the kitchen has everything you’re likely to need. The accommodation is a relaxing home from home in a friendly area, close to some amazing beaches, and it’s really well thought out, right down to the surfboards and wetsuits in the shed. Jan and Steve, Jamie’s folks, live next door. They’re lovely, supportive without intruding, great to chat with and full of local knowledge.

The owners were helpful and live in the adjoining property. This dog friendly cottage has parking and comfortably sleeps four. It’s handy for the village centre, with two pubs and a shop nearby. Excellent Putsborough beach is a 10 minute drive away, and the cottage comes with its own parking permit for the beach car park.
