YHA Medway - Hostel

A quiet, fairly comfortable hostel tucked away in Kent, with a nice green area and a park nearby. The park has a toboggan, tube slide and ski slopes, though there isn’t much snow in England anymore. The rooms are a bit small, but fine if you just need somewhere to sleep while exploring. There’s a sink in the room, with communal bathrooms and showers. It’s self catering, so the service is what you make of it. Shared spaces include a dining room, kitchen and living room. The kitchen is well equipped, and there’s a laundry room and drying room too. On site parking fits about 12 to 14 cars, and there’s also parking in the park opposite. The reception area can be set up to suit your needs, and it seems like a good place to book for a camp or group.

We only stayed one night, so we didn’t explore the area, but the hostel itself felt welcoming. The gentleman at reception was friendly and very helpful. Everything was very clean, and our three children had fun playing table tennis. Breakfast was very nice and good value, and the stone baked pizzas were very good too. The panini came with a fresh, crisp salad. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it.

We rented the whole place as a group for several days and had a great stay. The rooms were comfortable and really warm, and everything was in good condition. The kitchen had everything we needed. Thanks to the team!

The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, and they were polite, friendly and helpful. The room worked okay for a family, though it was right beside the showers and the toilets were a long way through two narrow hallways with very heavy fire doors. The self catering kitchen was very small, had no ventilation, got very hot and held onto cooking smells. Our room was unbearably hot the whole time.
