We stayed through freezing winter weather, but the cottage was lovely and warm. The underfloor heating felt great after walks over the cold moors, and although there's a fire, we never needed to light it. The main bedroom had a big, comfortable bed, and the bathroom has both a bath and a shower. I loved soaking in the large tub, and wish my own bathroom were this warm. The enclosed patio has lovely views, and you can set off walking on the moors straight from the cottage. It was unbelievably clean, with no sign that dogs had stayed there, so it works just as well for people without dogs. It's quiet too, a good spot to get dogs away from fireworks. The roads are hilly and bendy, as you'd expect on the Yorkshire Moors, but Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay are easy to reach, and we also went to Scarborough. For self catering, the kitchen is one of the best equipped I've seen. It had everything for proper meals, including a full size fridge freezer and an air fryer, as well as the usual toaster, microwave and cooker. Richard answered my questions quickly from booking through arrival. We found milk, bread and other little extras waiting for us. A fantastic cottage with great hosts, and a peaceful country setting with the coast close enough for a visit.

Our daughter, who loves animals, was delighted by the cows, chickens and geese on the smallholding overlooking Ingleside cottage. The village is beautiful, and the weather was amazing during our stay. We didn't want to leave and will definitely return. Inside, the cottage was spotless and beautifully decorated. The host had left fresh bread, milk, butter and a basket of treats with wine, biscuits, tea and coffee. It's a real gem. Thanks to Richard and Amanda 😊

The welcome pack was a lovely touch, and Richard and Amanda were helpful and quick to answer our questions. The cottage has gorgeous views and walks are easy to reach. We especially appreciated the dog bowls and blankets for the sofa. Sheep, cows and chickens are right outside, which was a bonus. We had a fantastic few days at Ingleside cottage and would book again when we're back in the area.

There was everything we needed for a lovely family stay, and we'd definitely book the cottage again. My partner enjoyed having a bath, while my son couldn't get enough of the animals in the neighbouring field.

For a bit of peace and quiet, Ingleside is hard to beat. Our visit to the moors was blustery but calm, and the cottage was lovely, with modern amenities and beautiful views. The local cows and chickens were friendly too.
