The location is great, but paying around £200 a night felt expensive for what we got. Our small room, listed as a standard King, was in the basement and got hot at night, with no fan or AC. We couldn't leave the floor-level window open for security, as it opened onto an overgrown garden that was easy to reach from the street. The bed was soft, the shower was basic and hard to keep at a comfortable temperature, and the paintwork looked tired. The website doesn't make it at all clear that this is a collection of basement and ground floor rooms with one staff member on duty part time.

I found this hotel safe and very reasonably priced, and I'm a bit puzzled by some of the low reviews. The website clearly says there isn't hot food at breakfast, so I'm not sure why someone complained about that. I was travelling alone with my young daughter, and we felt incredibly well looked after. The bed was very comfy. A special mention for manager John. He gave my daughter sweets as we were leaving, a thoughtful touch, and also helped us carry all our luggage to the bus stop. I've never had this level of care and service elsewhere.

The room was lovely and really comfortable, and we had a very good breakfast. Staff were friendly, too. The location is great, with excellent restaurants and the Art Galleries an easy walk away. I'll definitely stay again.

It's always a treat to return to Boutique 50. This is already my third visit, and it's one of my favourite hotels anywhere. Each stay feels special, thanks to the warm, attentive service, spotless rooms with lovely details, a great breakfast, and an excellent location. A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Boutique 50. You always leave me smiling, in my face and in my heart. Pus.

Friendly, polite staff, a great location near good restaurants, bars, and museums, and breakfast included in the room price, which was excellent. There was a bit of a lack of attention to detail, though: the toilet cistern was faulty and kept making a sound as water ran, and we had to ask for the room to be serviced on our second night. Before we arrived, we also got a scam WhatsApp message trying to get our bank details.
