Embassy Apartments

The room was not properly cleaned, with spiderwebs and very dirty dishes. Opening the windows brought in a really bad smell. We had booked a queen bed through the agency but were given two singles instead. Even after showing our request in the booking system, staff said we had asked for single beds and refused to change the room, speaking to us disrespectfully. Parking was another problem. We chose the hotel because it advertised free parking, but there were very few free spaces in the garden, and overnight parking outside cost 4 pounds. You couldn't pay by card. When we asked about using the garden the next day, the woman at reception firmly said no. She said the hotel had messaged us about the limited spaces, though we never received that message, and insisted it was our responsibility. The worst part was trying to explain our experience. The receptionist said she was having dinner and would eat first unless the matter was critical. I've rarely had such poor reception service. The high price just doesn't match the quality or service.

We had a lovely stay at the Embassy Hotel in Glasgow and would gladly return. The apartment was roomy, comfortable and laid out well. It's self-catering, though, so it isn't always cleaned. There's a small parking area at the back, but it may not be available. The location is ideal, just across from the Botanic Gardens, with shops and cafes a short walk away. During the busy Christmas period, Marlène kindly arranged an accessible shower in another room for our little boy the following day, which was very thoughtful.

I was in Glasgow for work and spent two nights in Apartment No. 3 at Embassy Apartments. I won't return, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting basic guest care. The shower tap was broken the whole time. I reported it on the first morning, but nothing had been done by the time I came back that evening. They said no other rooms were available and there was nothing they could do, leaving me to manage for two days without a proper wash. There was no apology or flexibility when I asked whether I could pay extra for breakfast on the second morning. They said my studio wasn't eligible because it had a kitchen. The service was poor, and no one took responsibility.

The apartment was clean, comfortable, well maintained and had everything we needed. It's a central spot, with restaurants, wine bars and a Waitrose all close by. My only suggestion is a larger wall TV, since the small one gets lost in such a big room. That's just my preference, though, not a complaint.
