Motel One Glasgow

The beds are super comfortable, and dogs are welcome, which is a huge plus. The location is excellent too, right beside Central train station and within walking distance of lots of pubs, shops, and restaurants. Bedroom cleanliness could be better. Still, for the price, we'd come back.

The bar had a nice range of drinks, and I got talking with the bartender, Bryna, I think that was her name. She was down to earth and lovely, and suggested where to get a good kebab. I tried it, and it was lovely, so thank you! Motel One is the best hotel I've stayed in. My room had what I needed and the bed was really comfortable. I later found out it was German-owned, which made me happy since I'm learning German. Vielen Dank. I love this hotel.

A real bonus for us was the brilliant wethersppons across the road. This hotel also makes a handy base for shopping and sightseeing, with Glasgow central station nearby. There's an NCP car park a two-minute walk away, and if you take your ticket to reception at checkout, they validate it to reduce the parking charge. The room was clean and had the usual kettle, tea and coffee, plus a proper hairdryer, which made my day. It was completely quiet, with no traffic noise at all.

I stayed for three days and everything was perfect. The location downtown, very near the railway station, made it an ideal base for a short stop between sightseeing. The staff were hospitable and polite, and gave me a great first impression of the city. I liked the martini too.
