The room was clean and well equipped, but the strong smell of cooking and smoking in the hall and bedroom entrance was really off-putting. We were there for a week, and the location suited why we came, but next time we'll stay a street back so we can rest. Our room faced Cochrane Street, and it was extremely noisy: racing cars, a bus stop, traffic lights, a loading bay, buskers, a pub on the corner, George Square, and more. The quietest stretch was 1:30 am to 5:30 am. They even provide ear plugs, as shown in the picture. Older buildings often have secondary glazing, but it seems like too much work here. And what if the fire alarm went off while you were wearing plugs? We stay in Glasgow for a week at a time, so we need a balance between location and a good night's sleep.

Flat 3 was clean and modern, but noisy at night because there's a bar restaurant downstairs, and on Saturday we could hear people shouting from George Square. The bigger problem came after we left. The management claimed we'd broken the bathroom mirror and charged us £50, which was completely untrue. I've worked in hospitality for nearly 20 years and rent serviced apartments myself, so I'm careful. We didn't cause any damage. If you do stay at Saco Glasgow, I strongly recommend taking pictures before you leave, since they may charge you later for damage you didn't cause. It may be wiser to book through a third party so you have fair support if something goes wrong.
