Millbatch Farm

Millbatch Farm gave my friend and me a welcome quiet break after long days at Glastonbury festival. It was clean and comfortable, had all the amenities we needed, and breakfast was delicious, with options beyond a traditional fry-up. Annabelle was a pleasure to be around, friendly and accommodating, and really made our stay special. I'd definitely recommend the place.

It felt a bit uncertain at first, as we had to wait for Jeremy (the owner) to come back and let us in. Once he arrived, he showed us around. The medium-sized garden was gorgeous, just right for a cider in the sun, and our room was spacious and comfortable for three people. It had a sky box and an adjustable en suite electric shower and toilet. There’s also a shared bathroom with a gorgeous bathtub I’d like to try next time. Glastonbury town is a 15-minute bus ride away, and they gave us the number for a reliable, reasonably priced taxi service. Breakfast was a banging full English, with orange juice and tea or coffee. Warm, down-to-earth service. A fantastic stay, and I’d recommend it.

Very disappointing overall. There was nobody there to check us in. The complimentary tea and coffee came with milk that was out of date, biscuits that were several weeks out of date, and, strangely, a teabag left in the kettle. I could have forgiven that, but the bath had no water pressure, so we couldn't use it, and the shower parts were broken, meaning you had to hold the shower head by hand. The upstairs neighbours were up at 3 am and again at 6 am. Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but there was no soundproofing at all. Several times it literally sounded as if they were coming through the ceiling to join us. A shame, as Jeramy (manager) and the breakfast were very pleasant.

We were five women in a car at 9:30pm on a bank holiday weekend, with nowhere to stay because places were fully booked. We ended up sleeping in the car. The check-in window was 5pm to 7pm, but when we tried calling at 6pm there was no answer. We called again at 7pm and 9:30pm. When the manager finally answered, he said he was busy and couldn't come let us in, so we'd have to find somewhere else. Even after we offered to drive to Bath to collect the keys, he refused, saying he was at his son's birthday party. Be careful with the check-in times. Avoid this place.
