Orchard View B&B (Adults Only)

Clare made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived at Orchard View. She'd set up a bike rack inside the entrance to the B&B suite, which was a lovely touch for my bike. Then she showed me around the rooms, which sit above the garage and have their own separate entrance, the left hand door in the picture. I was there after the second day of my Lands End to John O'Groats ride in February 2019. The suite had a double bedroom, bathroom, and a spacious living room with a table and chair and a well appointed kitchenette. Everything was fresh, modern, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was included: bread and toaster, croissants, butter, jams, yogurts, and fresh fruit. As I was leaving before dawn, it suited me perfectly. I could prepare plenty of trail rations for the day. The location was quiet, and I slept extremely well. For an evening meal, there's a fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, and pub about 400 metres down the road. I chose the fish and chips, very good after being on a diet for six weeks before the ride. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

We've now stayed at Orchard View for a second time, and enjoyed it as much as we did last year. The apartment is spacious, clean, comfortable, and very well equipped, with a good bed. Having a reserved parking space right outside the entrance makes coming and going easy. Clare and Mark are friendly, welcoming hosts, always helpful with local information and advice. There's a garden centre, several takeaways, a local shop, and a pub within a five minute walk. Gloucester canal is just a few minutes farther. It's a quiet, convenient place to stay, only a few minutes' drive from Gloucester, and I have nothing but positive comments.

I travel a lot for work, and this is a great change from cramped hotel rooms. The place was spacious, modern, clean, and had everything I needed. It's conveniently located near the motorway and local amenities. I'd definitely stay again.
