The Merry Harriers

We travelled with our two-month-old, and the team were incredibly accommodating. The staff were warm and welcoming, and our spacious garden room was tastefully furnished, nicely finished and had all the amenities we needed. The setting is beautiful, with fields all around. We liked the bar drinks, from draught to cocktails and wines. The food was excellent throughout our two nights, with locally sourced seasonal produce. We tried everything from the sharing pie and steak to the breakfast choices, plus the starters and desserts, and it was all delicious. Strongly recommend, and we look forward to returning.

The asparagus was gorgeous. Most of the food was beautifully presented and very well cooked, though the bubble and squeak croquettes seemed cheap and bland. The place felt rustic but was clearly clean and well maintained. Staff seemed switched on, attentive and courteous while still being relaxed. I'd definitely recommend it and come back.

The scotch egg with homemade brown sauce and the beef short rib were the standouts, and the rest of the food was unreal too. Service was really friendly. A beautiful country pub with gorgeous decor and a great atmosphere.

The food is amazing and always fresh whenever I come. It's a proper British pub, with welcoming staff and really high-quality food and drink. Just the kind of place you hope to find for a cosy dinner.
