Double-gate Farm

We booked on the spur of the moment and arrived just a few hours later, but Debbie made everything easy for us. The room was spotless and spacious, with a really comfortable bed. There was tea, coffee, drinking chocolate and milk in the fridge, and the big bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and hand soap. The information folder was useful too, with details on nearby shops, hospitals, places to eat and local attractions. We spent plenty of time having tea in the sun on the patio, looking out over the stream and the field opposite. Breakfast was ordered through an app: choose your food and time, enter your table number, then head to the dining room where coffee and juice are already waiting. There’s a huge range, from cereal and fruit to omelettes, sandwiches, full English and vegetarian breakfasts. Everything we tried was delicious, carefully prepared and clearly made with locally sourced ingredients. Afternoon tea is available as well. We didn’t have it, though it looked lovely and seemed popular. It was a really relaxing stay, and the hosts were so welcoming. We’d happily come back. Thanks for such a great visit.

The tea shop’s homemade cakes were a lovely extra, and breakfast was a real highlight, with loads of choice, local ingredients and food cooked and presented beautifully. We found the accommodation comfortable, spacious and spotless, with everything we needed. Debbie and Steve were warm and helpful, and the setting made a great base for trips to Glastonbury, Cheddar and the surrounding area. We’ve just come home from a lovely stay and will return.

We brought 19 of us, adults and children, for the Easter Celebration Afternoon Tea today to surprise my Mum for her 90th birthday. It was fabulous, and I can’t praise the experience enough. Deb and the team were friendly and helpful throughout, and the food was delicious, with a great mix of savoury and sweet treats. The riverside surroundings were beautiful too. Well worth visiting.

We stayed in a riverside room that welcomed dogs. It was warm, spacious and spotless, and the quiet setting suited us perfectly. Breakfast was tasty and generous, served in the room, and the pups even got treats. The hosts were so friendly and nothing felt like too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
