The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, and this was a great dog friendly stay for a couple and a dog. Just a heads-up, there are chickens behind an enclosed garden. Cate was great at keeping in touch, even while she was on holiday. Thanks so much for our stay at the Garden House. I’d certainly recommend it.

Cate was a perfect host, even leaving the fire on for our arrival. We loved the fresh eggs from her hens, home cooked brownies and lovely bathroom products. The bed was so comfortable, and being able to use her beautiful garden was a generous extra. The Garden House was lovely for two and a dog, in a peaceful spot that’s great for exploring the Lakes and its many lovely walks. We only wish we’d stayed longer than two nights. Thanks, Cate, I’m sure we’ll see you again!

I came up from London for some rest and relaxation on my own, and this was just right. The room was clean and comfortable, and Cate’s thoughtful little extras made the stay even better. I arrived to fresh baked shortbread, brownies and eggs! It’s a great base for exploring the Lake District, then coming back to somewhere calm and quiet. Thank you.
