The Blue Boar Inn

We only stayed one night and didn’t arrive until 9:30pm, but the owners were happy to open the bar and keep it open as long as we liked. The room had everything we needed. Breakfast was amazing, a big full English with plenty of toast, orange juice, and coffee. I loved this real gem, and James and Laura were fabulous hosts. I’d definitely stay again.

The owner was friendly, accommodating, and really helpful, and we had a fantastic stay. Before we arrived, they kept in touch and helped us on the way to the Blue Boar Inn. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we slept really well. Coming back from an event at Sandringham estate, it was lovely to have tea and complimentary biscuits waiting in the room. Breakfast was so filling we couldn’t finish it, compliments to the chef. We’ll come back.

Our stay at the Blue Boar inn for the Thursford Christmas show was over far too quickly. Sue, the landlady, was lovely and made us feel like family, and the food was excellent. We had a superb time and can’t recommend the place enough. We’ll definitely be back.

We were turned away and won’t go back. We were on holiday, heading back to our accommodation after a pleasant day, and wanted a quick drink at 6.15 on a Saturday evening. We found the pub on Google and thought it sounded nice. The entrance was through a pleasant, quirky beer garden with more than 20 tables, but only one was occupied. A masked staff member met us at the entrance and said, "Sorry, we are fully booked." We explained we only wanted a quick drink and were happy to sit outside, but they still refused us. I don’t recommend it.
