We booked this house on Salk Road for three nights as a seaside getaway for two adults and our two young children. It turned out to be a mistake. The place was clean but extremely basic, and the smell of smoke was impossible to escape, even with all the plug-ins the owner tried to use to cover it up. The garden was poor, and building waste covered the BBQ area. The stairs were dangerous for a young child, and our requests for a stairgate were ignored. Neighbours on the estate told us the house is usually used by tradesmen and others. It just wasn’t suitable for families, so think twice before booking.

The host was so attentive, taking care of all my “ridiculous” requests. The house was spotless and ticked every box for a short let, even raising my standards. I couldn’t have asked for a better host. I’ll definitely come back and highly recommend it.
