Beach Breeze Cottage

It was a very enjoyable stay. The whole house, bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom, was clean and tidy. The online manuals for the TV and heating were really useful. The house is on a busy road next to a pub, but none of us had trouble sleeping.

The beds are very comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with a good shower. The property could use another shower for a three-bedroom place, and there's only one small sofa in the main room. It also smelled damp, and some toilet cleaner or bleach would have been useful. The 41 spotlights are a lot and don't make for a relaxing evening, so a few table lamps would help. The front door opens straight onto the pavement of a busy main road, there's no private parking, and we had to park on a side street. The garden is really just a small table area backing onto a tatty pub. Not a great location, but all in all a nice property.

It's a modern, spacious, clean and well-equipped place near amenities, with good kitchen appliances, especially the double range. Caister beach is an excellent ten-minute walk away, and the seal colony at Horsey is a 20-minute drive. I recommend the nearby chip shop, Chinese takeaway and bakery. We found the downstairs fourth bedroom damp and cold, so I'd suggest a maximum of six people rather than the eight we had. The pop-up wastes in both bathroom sinks, upstairs and downstairs, were faulty, so we couldn't fill either one. The landlord said he'd replace them before the next guests and was very responsive.

We had a lovely weekend at Beach Breeze Cottage. It was comfortable, clean and well maintained, and we'd definitely recommend Stef &Nikki. There are more upmarket places, but we enjoyed our stay and the Saturday walk to Great Yarmouth, which took just over an hour. There are plenty of buses if you don't fancy walking.
