Easton at majestic hotel

I paid £43 for a room but decided not to stay. The bed linen was very old and bobbly, there were no mattress or pillow protectors, and the bathroom was shabby. The lift was filthy, and I didn’t feel safe in the room, where the doors all use coded handle latches and you’re given a code for your own room. The man at reception was charming and very polite, which was about the only good thing I can say. I booked a guest house for £23 room only instead, and it’s spotlessly clean and modern.

The accommodation is basic, but the kindness we were shown was far beyond what I expected. After a really stressful journey with delays, I arrived late at night, well past the usual check-in time, and they still let me and my dog stay. They’re only supposed to accept people with guide dogs, so I’m very grateful they made an exception for us. I finally felt safe, clean, and comfortable, and they looked after us so well. I’d recommend them to anyone.

The new owner was so friendly and helpful when my daughter and I arrived late, even carrying my luggage up to the room. We only stayed one night, but both slept well. The hotel was busy and still quiet, which was a real help as I’m a light sleeper. The bed was comfortable, and the new duvet and pillows were super cosy. The owner said he’d only recently opened and planned to make improvements. I’m sure he’ll make a success of it, and I’d recommend staying here.

For the price, you really can’t go wrong. It’s about a 10 min walk from the clubs and close to the sea, and the service made me feel very welcome. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it to friends soon.
