The staff were incredibly helpful when I brought the wrong plug converters. They went to their house to get personal hair tools for me to use for the wedding, and lent me an iPhone charger for the weekend. The place was clean, cosy and adorable, and the beds were super comfortable. The food was amazing too. I had the meat pie and can’t recommend it enough. If we make it back to Grittleton, we’ll absolutely stay here again.

The cauliflower steaks were amazing, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The bar and restaurant team were friendly and professional, and nothing was too much trouble. We had such a lovely evening at The Neeld. I’d highly recommend this pub and will definitely be back soon.

Took my in-laws to meet family, and they had a wonderful time thanks to the friendly, attentive and extremely helpful waiting staff. The Sunday lunch was fantastic, with delicious roast beef, plenty of vegetables and incredible roast potatoes. Service was five star. The place was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely visit again. Thank you!

On my first trip to England, this night felt like a dream. The food was hearty and rich, just right for a cold November evening, and the rustic interior made me feel like I’d stepped into another time, in the best way. The owner and employees were cordial and prompt. The other diners were all locals, and kindly drew me into conversation as their “American cousin”. We shared rounds, swapped stories and backgrounds, and ended the night laughing. As an American anglophile, it put a halo around my whole trip: English food, architecture and people sharing their vibrant, storied culture. I’ll come back one day.

The staff were polite and friendly, and the ales were nice too. It’s a beautiful pub in a beautiful village, with excellent food. The pie was the best I’ve ever had in a pub, a proper pastry pie, as Northerners will understand, filled with succulent meat and gravy. I’d definitely go again.
