Beechwood House

We stayed at this house in February 2022 and had a good experience. It was a nice amount of space in a good location, and communication with Ty Sa was good. We booked through AirBnB. At the start of June 2022, I booked another Ty Sa place through AirBnB, Merriot House. That stay was poor, mainly because of serious cleanliness and safety problems. Be careful with Ty Sa. Everything below is about Merriot House, not Beechwood House. I wouldn’t stay there again or book with Ty Sa at another property. They were quick to communicate before the stay and agreed to set up the beds as requested, as their listing offered. Afterward, though, they were very poor at responding to the problems, so I had to take it to the AirBnB resolution centre. There was a smashed floor tile right where you stand at the bathroom sink, with lots of loose pieces. It was extremely dangerous, especially for families with children. The beds weren’t set up as agreed, and when we moved them, we found a lot of dirt and even a used earbud in the bedroom. The listing also claimed snacks and toiletries were provided, that the courtyard was usable, that the beds would be arranged as requested, and that the property was cleaned to a professional high standard. There were no snacks or toiletries, and the courtyard was unusable because of weeds, rubbish, and cigarettes. Other problems included someone else’s used soap in the shower, an unknown pill or tablet on the lounge floor, debris under the lounge table, cobwebs and dirt on the dining room walls, a carbon monoxide alarm that wasn’t working and that I had to fix, a plant pot full of cigarette butts, and filthy windows. I sent Ty Sa photos of everything. They said the cleaners hadn’t noticed the tile and called the other problems an “anomaly,” while saying they were satisfied their cleaning standards had been met. I said it was impossible to miss the tile if any cleaning had been done, since you have to stand on it to clean and should clean the tile too. I also said all the other problems together couldn’t be called an anomaly, though perhaps one or two could. I’ve had no reply since, so I raised it with AirBnB. They charged £77 for cleaning and said it had been done to a professional high standard. I’ve never left a poor review for an AirBnB stay before. Ty Sa’s service and correspondence were dreadful once I raised these issues, despite their quick replies before booking. I won’t stay with them again.

It was a lovely, clean, warm house. Luke, the owner, was very helpful. We’ll be recommending the property to friends and family.
