We’ve been a few times for Sunday roast and also dinner on a Friday, and the food has been really delicious. We left full and happy each time. It’s such a gorgeous pub, with a lovely garden and stunning countryside views out back. We’ll definitely visit again soon. ❤️

The menu had a good range, with some vegetarian and fish choices, and the prices were very reasonable. Our food arrived quickly, hot and tasty, and the bill was fair. There was a lovely warm log fire burning when we came in; the staff were polite and friendly, drinks were taken straight away, and we had time to look through the menus before ordering food. The toilets were clean, and it’s child and dog friendly. I’ve visited this inn for many years and haven’t seen anyone make it work for long, but this feels like the start of a very good business. We took the in-laws for a meal today. Would recommend it to all.

It’s still a marvellous spot to enjoy a beer by the river, with a great location and friendly, helpful service. The beer is good too. I’d have given five stars, but the food seems to have slipped in quality lately, as though there’s been a bit of complacency after the excellent effort and success when it first reopened. Maybe there’s a different chef, I don’t know.

I was blown away by the location and the food at a lunchtime meeting here. The menu is small compared with other places, which reassured me: fewer choices can mean more focus on quality. The food was stunning, well seasoned and tasty, with portions just right for a working lunch. Service was excellent, with genuine, warm Welsh smiles.

We loved our New Year’s Day meal at the Chainbridge. The cooking was great and the service lovely. The steak was perfect, and the pie delicious. We’ll be back!
