Nick and Kate were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home during our one-night stay. Caerwent’s historic Roman walls are right there, and the area is lovely and peaceful. Our room felt cosy, with an en suite, a working TV, radiator plus an extra heater, plenty of sockets, and a mini-fridge. There was a kettle with lots of complimentary tea and coffee, and free soap, though you’ll need to bring your own toiletries. We stayed in February, so it was cold and drizzling, but the room was warm enough for us. The food was freshly made, and the chicken with garlic mushroom sauce was amazing. If you don’t drink coffee, try the hot chocolate. To reach the B&B and restaurant, go through the back patio from the car park. The restaurant is separate from the pub, which makes it a calmer spot.

The owner was so lovely, polite and helpful, and even let us check out later so we had time to get ready for a nearby friends’ wedding. Breakfast service was incredible. We stayed in a five-star hotel the following night, and the service there didn’t come close to what we had here. We had such a great stay and will definitely come back. It’s an hour’s drive from home, but we’d make the trip just for the sake of it. Thanks so much, and keep up the good work! 👌🏼❤️

There’s a huge garden with room for families and kids, and my boys love visiting in every season. In winter they even have ice skating there, along with lovely Christmas offers. Couples can use a separate area with darts, snooker, pool, a jukebox, and a good spot to watch a game. I moved to the area three years ago and came across this lovely bar and restaurant. The staff made me feel welcome right away, everyone was smiling, and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable. The food is consistently fresh, quick, delicious, and good for different tastes.

I was there for one night for a work event nearby, and everyone made me feel welcome. The service was great, and they made sure breakfast was ready in time for me to get to my venue. Nice rooms and plenty of parking, too. I’d come back for a visit that isn’t work-related and spend some time seeing the area.

The food was good, as expected, and eating in the garden on such a sunny day was lovely. The outdoor facilities are excellent and very family-friendly, and the location is superb. What spoiled it a bit was the cutlery. Our food arrived without any, so I was happy to walk back to the bar and get some. But they only had those awful wooden utensils. I understand and support using them for takeaway, but we were eating on the premises in their nice outdoor area. We’d chosen this pub over another place specifically because that one only offered takeaway, which would have meant wooden cutlery. Back at the table, the wooden knife couldn’t get through my jacket potato, so I could only partly enjoy the meal. It’s a minor, very first-world complaint, but it did get in the way of the experience.
