The Glen Yr Afon House Hotel

The team at Glen Yr Afon made our wedding day run smoothly and took care of all the little details. They were extremely accommodating throughout, replying to our many emails and patiently keeping up with our back and forth while we made up our minds. They even brought emergency croissants to our room, handled our guests’ dietary preferences, carried a three-course meal up to our room the night before (still sorry about that!), and let us check into the bridal suite early. They kept us on schedule, and the food was delicious with very generous portions. They also helped my grandmother with her disability access needs, so she could enjoy the day despite being nervous at first. We had our intimate wedding in the library room in October, and we’re so glad we chose the venue. The space suited our autumn theme perfectly. The grounds were spacious and well kept, and the hotel’s interior had loads of charm and unique details. We loved the restaurant room and courtyard, too, which had just the right size and character for our celebration. They let us decorate and set up the reception area the night before, which eased our nerves and helped us picture the day. On the day, everything was arranged beautifully and captured what we’d envisioned, including the ceremony room. We’d recommend the venue and team to any couple. Thank you so much again. They let us decorate the space the way we wanted, which made the shower feel personal and special. The food was fantastic, with fresh sandwiches and treats presented beautifully. I recently had my baby shower at Glan yr Afon, and it was perfect. Everyone handled things with care and couldn’t have been more accommodating, even with the fussy dietary requests, gluten-free, vegetarian, kids’ options and no butter. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to the team for making the day special. I couldn’t have asked for a better venue! 💕

The family room we had was split over two levels and worked really well. The hotel has a lovely setting and plenty of character, and all the food was fantastic. The staff were first class, and we’d definitely stay again. We had a wonderful two-night visit for my brother’s wedding.

Breakfast was out of this world. I’ve never eaten so well anywhere else, and here it felt like being treated like royalty. The service was exceptional, and I can’t thank everyone enough for making the stay so lovely. I can’t wait to return ☺️ From arrival to departure, the whole experience was amazing. Every staff member was polite and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. My room was incredible, spotlessly clean, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and pillows. The tea tray was refreshed every day.
