The Old Barn Inn

There’s plenty of parking, and the place looks pleasant from outside with the main entrance clearly signed. It’s easy to reach from the M4 junction just to the east, though the turn off the road into the driveway is a bit tight. Harvey greeted me at the bar, showed me to my reserved table and brought my Guinness once it had finished pouring. The menu is small, which I prefer as it usually means quality over quantity. Seating was very comfortable, and the noise level was low enough to talk without shouting or struggling to hear. The food arrived in good time. Halloumi fries were great, and the sweet chilli dip was one of the best I’ve had. Please share which one it is, unless it’s made in house. The prawn spaghetti was phenomenal, with plenty of it, a brilliant white sauce, perfectly cooked pasta, and delicious prawns and salmon. There was ample garlic bread, drenched in garlic butter. Harvey was courteous throughout, checking whether we wanted drinks or had any problems, offering the dessert menu when we were full, bringing a tub for the leftovers, and making it easy to pay and split the bill. Good lad. I plan to return and share this wonderful place with more friends.

You can tell this place has plenty of regulars, the staff knew many of them by name. We came for an excellent meal and to look over the venue as a possible wedding photography location. It would be superb for a celebration, and the owner was experienced and helpful. Everyone was very polite and accommodating. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't over the top either, and the meal was worth every penny.

Jackie was such a joy, and the staff were amazing. We held our daughter's wedding here, and the place looked stunning. The food was outstanding too. We'd all recommend visiting.

The service really stood out. All the staff were courteous and helpful, and handled everything professionally. We booked a 60th birthday party, only to find a wedding was taking place at the same time. Our group had the conservatory while the wedding was in the main bar, and even with the venue so busy, drinks table service ran smoothly. The food arrived on time, piping hot, with no mistakes. I'd strongly recommend the venue for a party or get together. Thanks to everyone for looking after us so well.
