Linda was especially friendly and helpful, and the whole setup made our wedding stay easy. The room has a double bed, sofa bed and TV, plus most things you need, including a microwave, though there's no cooker. The price was good for two nights; one night at Gosfield Hall cost more than both nights here. Gosfield is a quiet base within an hour or two of Colchester, Braintree and Halstead by car, and Uber delivers locally. There's also a restaurant across the car park with a decent range of food. Just keep in mind that the room next door can hear you. No complaints from us, and we'd come back.

Carl and Joan made everything feel relaxed and welcoming, and I only wished I could have stayed longer. I was in the area as a wedding guest at Gosfield Hall, and this turned out to be a great choice. The setting is lovely, and my room was clean, cosy and just right. I'd happily recommend it.

The lake views were lovely, and you can walk through a field to Gosfield hall. Our room was very clean, with plenty of space and a big, comfortable bed. On the hottest day of the year, the ceiling fan was a big help. Everyone was polite and helpful. Thanks for a nice stay.

There was a little porch with furniture where we could sit and take in the views, and the photos show that outlook. The room was larger than we expected, with a comfortable bed, small sofa and spa bath. Carl and Joan were so welcoming. We were there for a wedding at Gosfield hall, just a 10-minute walk across the field. They'd even put water, milk and mini Kellogg's cereals in the fridge for breakfast. The lake cafe is lovely, and there's a good pub about 10 minutes up the road. We didn't want to leave so soon.

Annex B was peaceful and picturesque out of season, with a lovely view over the lake. We were there for two nights for a wedding at Gosfield hall, and it was an easy walk, so no need for taxis. The bath was so nice I used up all the hot water! There's an extra heater for chilly weather, as well as a hair dryer, microwave and toaster. A really cosy stay, thank you.
