The Grey Bull B & B

The owner left prosecco, wine and chocolates for us, such a lovely touch. We had a family party here over a long weekend, all 13 of us, and the house was comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed. The pool table was a big hit with the teenagers. The village pub served good food, and we went for Sunday lunch and breakfast before leaving. The staff there were friendly, as were all the people we met. A lovely couple told us about an easy 4 miles walk down by the river along the gorge and up to the Roman road. Don’t hesitate to book, you won’t be disappointed!

The Grey Bull was spotless, really well equipped and laid out nicely for a larger group. I had a spacious en suite room with a very comfortable bed. The property is well placed for the town centre and local walks. We stayed with friends in early May and had an excellent time. Would definitely return.

There’s plenty to do nearby, with Haltwhistle’s pubs, cafés, eateries and shops, walks starting from the Grey Bull, and easy drives to the sights around Northumberland. We stayed there from 5th to 8th May this year as a group of 10 'older' blokes, and we’ll book again. It’s set up really well for groups, with a well equipped kitchen, breakfast bar and huge dining room for meals and chats. The bedrooms are spacious and all have ensuite bathrooms. There’s also a games room, cinema room, kids’ play area and parking. One person in our group used a wheelchair, and the easy access plus downstairs bedroom and bathroom worked well for us.

The view in the photo was from our bedroom. My family and I stayed here for our local wedding, and finding a place for 16 of us had seemed impossible. The house was stunning and its set-up was just right for us, helping make it a perfect weekend. The owner was amazing from the time we booked 6 months ahead, keeping us reassured about what to expect. We weren’t disappointed. I’d honestly recommend it to anyone, and thanks again for helping make our weekend so special.
