The staff are lovely, professional and helpful, but the rooms let them down badly. I stay here often for work, and every room I’ve had has had something broken or not working. It feels like a lottery: broken toilet seats, extraction fans, light fittings, and nothing seems to get repaired. The dog-friendly policy can also mean the room smells strongly of wet dog. Getting a decent night’s sleep is another problem. Guests talk in the corridors, slam doors and keep walking back and forth until the early hours. The place doesn’t need millions spent on it, but a handyman and a few thousand pounds could make a big difference. If I got to choose, I wouldn’t stay here. I’d pay a few quid more to go somewhere else.

The room was filthy, with pubic hair in the bathroom and mould, dust and stains throughout. Basic and dated would have been fine, but it still needs to be clean. I know Days inn is usually among the cheapest hotels, but it costs about the same these days as Travelodge and Ibis Budget, where the rooms are clean. This was the most disgusting room I’ve ever been in. The location just off the motorway is the only upside. I can’t recommend it with rooms this dirty. Spend a little more and stay somewhere clean.

The locals were welcoming, and the service has been brilliant so far. The staff were kind and helpful too. When we arrived, though, there was a lot of dust and hair, plus toothpaste marks in the sink. The rooms could be better, but apart from that everything has been good.

I’m disabled, but the disabled spaces were full and none had blue badges displayed. After parking in a regular space, a Days Inn cleaner told us to move because she said it was her space as an employee. I told her it was cheeky to claim more right to it than we had. She spoke very poor English and was likely from Poland. She then parked in the hatched part of the car park, which is for fire, police and ambulance vehicles. When I pointed out she wasn’t allowed to park there, she said employees were exempt because she covered shifts when staff didn’t turn up, making her emergency staff. The attitude was absolutely appalling. Nobody seems to care, and some staff badly need clearing out.

Absolutely disgusting. We left because of the filth and mould, and Jamie Daly said he’d refund us, but nothing has been sent. Amazon drivers had apparently been living in the rooms for 3 months, and our room wasn’t cleaned when they left.
